We are a family of three who have been traveling full-time for the past several years. We've overlanded, Airstream'd, backpacked, and slow-traveled our way through more than 25 countries and nearly every state in the USA

As we travel, my husband worldschools our son while I work as a digital nomad. We spent two years in Colombia and Central America, living out of our suitcases.

When we first set out on this adventure, the goal was never to travel full-time forever. Our only goal was to find the best place to raise our son. Along the way, we fell in love with the process and the freedom that life as nomads brought us.

Our son, who has been traveling since he was just over a year old, has met his best friend in Panama, backpacked his way through every country in Central America. Danced with locals on the streets of Merida, explored the largest mountain range in the world, watched orca pods play around our boat, and swam in some of the most biodiverse waters on the planet. He has played in the plazas of the Puebla's in Colombia, splashed in the waters of famous surf towns like El Tunco, watched lava bubble in active volcanoes in Nicaragua, and played in the fields of ancient ruins in Guatemala. He has hiked some of the most beautiful National Parks in the United States, crossed the Pacific by boat twice and has traveled well over 80K thousand kilometers in his short life.

As we continue our full-time adventure, juggling daily life, launching our app The Adventurous Learner, working as a digital nomad and running this little blog, we decided to cross the Pacific. We’re hopped on a cruise to sail over to Japan and kicked off our Asia adventures. We spend nearly a year traveling between Korea and Japan, and the road has led us back to the states once again for a short while.

While we never intend to come back to the USA, we find ourselves back here every few years. Typically we are bummed to be pulled away from traveling abroad, but we always quickly realize how stunning our own country is.

Throughout our travels, our likes, interests, and preferences have constantly evolved. But one thing that has remained consistent is our love for traveling by land. We always feel like we miss too much when we jump on a plane. While I know there will come a time when we’ll have no choice but to fly, we still prefer the slower, more immersive journeys by boat, train, car, bus, or even tuk-tuk.

Over the next 8 months we will finish off the last few states to finally check off visiting all 50 states in America, and what a time during America's 250th! We will explore our home base of Arizona, continue to grow our app, which is now worldwide all while worldschooling and continuing life as a digital nomad.

We will begin to outfit our 2027 Land Cruiser for an epic adventure. She will set sail to Europe in March of 2027 and we will meet her across the pond. The more we travel without airplanes the more we fall in love with the journey.

Excited to have you all along for this ride!

While traveling through Central and South America, we found social media to be a distraction that took away from the overall experience and we completely removed it. We don't travel to gain social media followers; we do it because we love traveling and believe that learning through experience is the best form of education for our son.

FAQ's

What is your next adventure?

We're currently planning to ship our 2027 Land Cruiser to Europe in 2027. We have no idea where she will take us and what adventures we will have along the way, but we are excited for the road ahead.

What about your son's education?

We worldschool our son, which is a form of homeschooling. We believe learning through experience is the best form of education for our family, and is the reason we launch The Adventurous Learner.

How long do you plan on traveling for?

As of right now we have no end in sight. We never planned on traveling forever, but we don't see a stopping point in the near future either. We know we want to visit as many countries as possible, go to every continent and keep living 1% experiences.

How do you afford to travel full-time?

We sold everything we had and paid off all our debt to fund our travels. I started a location-independent business, and launched The Adventurous Learner allowing us to generate income from anywhere. This combination of financial freedom and flexible work lets us explore the world as a family.
